“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” – Walt Disney

I can’t believe it is almost July! Matt and I have been super busy trying to pack, tie up loose ends here in Michigan, figure out logistics of moving i.e. what goes to the cabin, what goes to storage, renting a moving truck, trying to decide what to do with the CUBE, and researching breeders for a new member of our family. It has been one month yesterday since Tank passed and we miss him everyday. Our house feels so empty without my guy. It’s been rough throwing away some of Tank’s “babies”. We have kept his two favorites -penguin and moose- to pass down to our next labbie. On one hand, I am so excited to raise my own puppy. You can’t get much cuter or naughtier than a labrador retriever pup! On the other hand, I would trade all of the puppies in the world to have my old boy back. I know that no other labrador will be quite like him. He will always have a huge part of my heart.

Anyways…*wiping away tears*, I won a race in Milwaukee a few weeks ago. The Rock n’ Sole quarter marathon. I beat all the boys too, so that was fun. Article here. It was a great last race in the Hanson’s uni.

I thought I would include some of my very FAVORITE summer running gear in this post. This is what I have been loving wearing on my runs lately:

BrooksRacerbackI think these D’lite Micro Mesh Racerbacks are so cute! I have 3 already and am looking to add to my collection. They are slightly see-through so wearing a bright, contrasting color bra underneath is fun and snazzy. 😉 The top is very lightweight and I love that it is longer in length.

0330052940421-1The Versatile Bra is hands-down my favorite bra from Brooks. I like that it does not have padding and the fabric is very soft. I own these in near every color and it is the only jog bra I wear.

52241The D’Lite Racer shorts are awesome. They are so lightweight and perfect for hot, summer running. There is a pocket in the back and also loopies -I am sure that is what they are called, ha!- for gel packs.

I love the color, cushioning, fit, and weight of the Ghost 6. Running in these shoes is like running on clouds. I wear them mostly for recovery runs the day after a hard workout. If you are a neutral runner I highly recommend you give these a try.

Oh. And, the one more SUPER EXCITING thing is we are seeing this guy Friday night.

I think this will be my 10th Tom Petty concert. I love him. My sister, Marisa, is flying in for it and my Mom is going as well. A favorite thing to do in my family is have Tom Petty dance parties in the living room so we are excited to take our moves to the public.

  1. Such a bittersweet post, but I love how your optimism always shines through! Congrats on winning the race outright! That’s one of those things on my running bucket list even if it’s a super tiny local race, I don’t care 🙂 Good luck with the move – may this new door lead you to new joys and wonderful experiences!

  2. Good luck with getting everything wrapped up, and with the rest of your planning for the move! I hope it goes as well as moving can go, and I hope you’re able to find the perfect puppy for you and Matt. Have fun at the Tom Petty concert. 🙂 We wish you the best!

  3. I’m so proud to know you 🙂 you’re a beautiful spirit! Excited to be on the team together xoxo
